Demelza Hospice Care for Children will be taking over Hythe Town Hall with a festive treat.

The charity will host a Christmas fayre in the High Street venue on Saturday 22nd November from 11am to 2pm to raise funds.

Entry is free and staff and volunteers from the hospice will be setting up a range of stalls for visitors to browse.

There will be plenty for sale, including Christmas decorations, gifts, Christmas cards, CDs and DVDs, toys, games, refreshments and much more.

A tombola will also help raise money.

Demelza’s Hythe shop, also in the High Street, will be open as usual on the day.

Manager Lynn Madigan said: “It couldn’t be in a better location – it’s a very nice hall.

“It’s going to be good fun and a good day and we hope to welcome lots of shoppers in to grab a Christmas bargain.”

An interesting local museum covering the history of Hythe, situated next to the Town Council Offices in Oaklands. Access (no stairs) is via the Public Library through an entrance hall used as an arts / crafts gallery.
The fully registered Museum is in three rooms, containing memorabilia depicting the civic and social history
of the town, together with a reminder of the importance of the Small Arms School Corps,
which used to be stationed in the Town.
'The Story of Hythe' is the latest addition to the information on display. Enquires on the Collections and on any aspect of the local history can be left with the Library staff, or the administrative staff of Hythe Town Council.
Admission to the Local History Room is free - the opening times are the same as those of the Library.
