Spoilt for choice!
There are numerous footpaths and bridleways in Hythe and the surrounding area.
The wealth of paths can be seen on the KCC Public Rights of Way information panel at Oaklands, (see town map), the starting point of our walks.
These pages describes a number of circular walks and a couple of cycle routes that explore the town and its surroundings.
There is the military archaeology of the Canal, the Martello towers and the Sound mirrors.
The walks take in the green spaces in the town and the parklands around it or, further afield, include breathtaking views over the Romney Marsh and out to the English Channel.
There are so many footpaths to choose from that for each of the walks described in this leaflet the walker will encounter alternative routes with new discoveries - which is part of the enjoyment of walking here.
The Saxon Shore Way, the North Downs Way, the Elham Valley Way and the National Cycle Network route 2 all pass near or through Hythe.

The map is interactive for walks 1 - 8. Click on the walk number and a page with the walk details opens up.
We have added another walk - walk 9 along the the Western foreshore when this restricted area is open to the public - that could not be fitted in the leaflet. Click on 9 for more details.

Further pages in this section will be developed during the course of the next few weeks.
